MEET GANDHI

Poor Gandhi really need a forever home.  He is approximately 6  years young.

He has been neutered and has all of his vaccines current and well as being microchipped. Best of all, he is fully house trained and extremely sweet.  If you are looking for an excellent opportunity to adopt a very nice fellow, Gandhi just might be the dog for you.

If you can offer Gandhi with a permanent, loving home, please contact Trudy Claiborne at Pryors Planet for more information.  Gandhi currently is fostered with Trudy's help.

               KODA
We have a new addition.  His name is “Koda” and he was at the San Luis Obispo shelter.  Koda is only about a year old.  In his short life he was given up because he was able to get over a fence and escape.  I guess the owners never thought to fix the fence so taking him to the shelter was their option.  Koda was then adopted but when he tried to dominate their current male dog, they claimed he was aggressive and after one week, it was back to the shelter.  Maybe the owners will realize that two males don’t always get along together!  Since Koda was now labeled “aggressive”, rescue was his only hope.  As it turns out, Koda is a typical young male that tries to get his way if he can but he is very affectionate, housebroken, shakes paws and a real sweet young dog.  He needs some training because he has yet to learn that jumping on people is not allowed.  He always has a smile on his face and ready to play with anyone that is willing.
If you can offer a permanent home to Koda

please submit an application to us or call us at 805-583-8280.  We know that Koda would love to have a family for Christmas!

          SHADOW
Shadow was rescued from the Agoura Animal Shelter.  She was turned in by her owner for killing their 13 year-old female German shepherd.   A very compassionate volunteer at the shelter knew there was more to the story and did a little investigating because if a dog enters the shelter as a potential threat, they cannot be offered for adoption to the general public and Shadow’s fate was sealed, but like all stories, Shadow’s has two sides.

Shadow was owned for years by a man that eventually moved back with his parents.  His parents already had a male and a female German shepherd.  We all know that it is common for adult Alaskan Malamutes to be same sex aggressive and Shadow is no different.  She tried for a long time to get along but after several battles, Shadow finally fought back and made several puncture wounds in the German shepherd’s neck.  When the family was not willing to spend the money for the medical costs to repair the wounds, they had the Shepherd put to sleep.  Shadow didn’t kill the shepherd … the Shepherd’s owners did!!!   All of a sudden it made sense why such an affectionate 5 year old girl, that was housebroken, that loves cats, that is leashed trained and beautiful ended up in the shelter.

We owe Stacy, the volunteer at Agoura for taking to time to find out the entire story, contact and save Shadow’s life!

If you can give Shadow a permanent home, please contact us at Alaskan Malamute Rescue (805) 583-8280, and mention "Shadow" as your dog of interest.

           DIESEL
Diesel is a 2 year old, male, black and white Alaskan Malamute with big beautiful brown eyes.  He is an active, outgoing young fellow that is capable of being an expert escape artist.  He would benefit greatly from having some direction or a job to do.  Chuck feels that being a great locksmith would suit him perfectly as he can lift latches, open doors and be in the next state in a flash.  Obviously, he needs a Malamute savvy owner.  He is good with kids and was kenneled with another male dog at the Banning animal shelter with no issues arising.  Since Malamutes tend to be same sex aggressive, this says volumes about his easy-going temperament but we still feel that a female Malamute or large girl would make the best companion for Diesel.  When this boy stands on his back legs he's over 5'3" tall.  Chuck can vouch for this too, as she was staring at his shoulders during the photo session to get the above photos!

THIS ONE JUST CAME OUT OF A SHELTER BUT WE NEED HELP NOW.

ADOPTED!

Look at that boy--at that trusting, adorable face--who could allow him to die in an animal shelter?  Obviously, not us but because we at Malamute Rescue are short on foster homes and so is Husky Camp, we have again joined forces to help this young fellow but we need you to adopt him NOW to solve his problem permanently!

Sabre is young, about 1 to 2 years old.  He is a gray and white, quite LARGE, friendly, male an Alaskan Malamute.  He rides very well in cars, so taking him on trips with you would be fun.  He seems to be completely housebroken.  He is still young and appears to still like all other dogs but we are not sure of his feelings toward cats.  He may change his feelings toward other male dogs as he grows up, therefore we will be looking for a home with no other males but a female companion should work nicely.

Sabre, some how got away from his family, was lost, confused, roaming loose and was picked up by Animal Control as a stray.  When no one came forward to claim him, he was scheduled to be euthanized.

If you are interested in adopting an Alaskan Malamute, please consider giving Sabre a forever home.  You are welcome to contact any or all of the following:
