Montana Rescue Dogs

Introduction to the Montana Dogs …

Yes, we are looking for permanent homes for the following rescue dogs but you should know a few facts first.  While none of the Montana Dogs have been abused they certainly have been neglected.  They were found extremely underweight, dirty, un-socialized or trained.  You will notice that most of the dogs that we have available are less than 2 years of age.  Most importantly, all of the dogs have spent the last 16 months in a kennel.  The dogs are not aggressive and crave attention.  Some of the dogs are very afraid of just about everything.  They have been exposed to freeway noise, other dogs, different people and a lot more room in their kennels during the last few weeks but you will need to continue this exposure.  What they will really need from potential adopters is exposure to household noises.  They have never been around TV, vacuum cleaners, dishwasher and even the sound of a patio chair being moved across the concrete patio makes them jump.

If I can quote one adopter, they stated that all the dogs will take patience, training and affection to become the wonderful dogs that God meant for them to be and I agree.  If you have a loving home to offer, please complete an application, sent it to us and we will call you for an interview.

The dogs are all current on their vaccines.  They have been microchipped and they are spayed or neutered.  A house check and a signed contract will be required for their protection.  We ask for an adoption donation which is normally $400.00

You must have a secure, enclosed yard or kennel run for exercise.  We would like you to have experience with Alaskan Malamutes but that is not an absolute requirement.  The dogs are “crate-trained” and we suggest that you have a crate for the house when exposing them to your home.

If you have additional questions or would like to talk with us about the dogs, please call us at Double T Kennels, (805) 583-8280
